I thought i might as well take the plunge and make a post.  Hopefully someone will find this question.

I've had problems finding enough arb opportunities.  I've been looking mainly at football betting markets.

are there any markets that are better than others?

Thanks

Jim

Arhhh, a Noobie question.

You may want to look at other markets.  Football betting is very popular.  The bookmakers probably monitor these prices closely.

Try expanding the sports and markets you are looking at.  Some of the subline markets tend to produce more arb opportunities.

To clarify subline market are the more unusual ones.  For example, not just betting on match result but goals, corners, or first goal timings.

That's just using English football as an example.  But there are loads of markets. Golf, 2 and 3 ball betting, wickets in cricket. Loads of them.

I've found that the more whacky the bet the longer the arbitrage opportunity persists. Probably because these markets are not the main earners for the bookies.

Okay thanks. I'll have a search to see what I can find.  Smiley
